I have officially deemed the Ogden 1/2 marathon my favorite Half Marathon!! It is such a beautiful course and it helped that today was absolutely PERFECT weather!! Oh, and of course that Tyler ran with me.  No, no, no, he wasn't just attempting to complete Charity work today, his I.T. band on his left knee has been hurting him and he didn't dare "race" the race today for fear of hurting it further.  So, he settled and decided to run with me instead today.  I was a bit bummed when I got to the start line and realized that I had left my ipod in my purse (in the truck) which meant I would be racing with no tunes to keep me rockin. But after the run and running with Tyler, I am slowly trying to persuade him to become my new "ipod"!! Not that he serenades me by any mean, but it's just so darn nice to have him to run with.  He helps coach me through things and knows the exact distance to stay in front of me to make me "chase" him. So, all in all, it was a great morning!!  Also, before going to Ogden last night, I failed to check my time from last year's race so I had no idea what I had to run today to compete or possibly beat last years time.  I was happy to see that I beat last years time by a whole 1 minute and 12 seconds, he he he!!!  I guess improvement is improvement ha!?! I was even a bit more proud of myself because with my sporatic running lately, I didn't expect improvement at all, so.......improvement in improvement.  Anyway, I am not a runner that remembers each mile and how I felt, etc so all I know is that I felt really good until mile 12 where of course I got the normal fatigue that comes with the end of races.  Tyler was great to keep me hanging in there and I finished strong!! Love love love, the food at the finish line too!!! Yes, it was a great race!  AP: 7:21

P.S. I just posted my placing overall, etc.  Apparently, Tyler registered me as a Male so my name doesn't show anywhere on the Female results :). Oh well! I found my times and kind or plugged in where I would have placed, ha ha!!!

You don't need NO training!

You are a freak of nature my friend!!! WOW!!! So stinkin' fast!!!

I didn't know if you were running today, but during the race I saw a girl wearing a bandana ... I speeded up hoping that it was you ... I was so sad when it wasn't! :(

Fantastic race. I am in awe. :)

Great work on the race Kellie! I wish I could sporadically train and hit a 1:37!! Or that I had a hubby that could run longer than to the mailbox :) Sounds like you had a wonderful morning, and hitting a new course PR is points to boot!

From MichelleL on Sun, May 16, 2010 at 21:50:56 from 67.41.166.22

Hey nice job on a PR! Tell Tyler to take care of that IT band, and I can give him my PT contact if he needs it.

Walter: Hey Thanks Lad! I remember Scott and Kelli from last year saying the full was hard so Tyler and I have decided we are more then happy to just stick with the half!! Great job Saturday!! 1st place, YIPEE!!!! I am happy for you~ Thanks again for your nice comments.

Burt: I am not sure that I am all that fast, but Thanks!! It did help to have my fast hubby along so that I had someone to try and impress. He is a good little coach and helped majorly! Thanks~

Kelli: See, the thing is is that when I was done, I was DONE!! I want to get to the point that I can run and feel good when I get done or say "I could have gone so much faster" and that is where the training comes in!! I need to train harder, plain and simple :). Funny how right after races, I say this and am all "gung ho" to run, but then after a few days I have a hard time getting out of bed and mentally don't feel into it. I need to work on myself a bit and be more consistent. I just do :)!!!!

Clay: Hey Thanks so much!! It was great seeing you out this morning!! You looked like you were just breezing along :).

Teena: I didn't know you were racing either!! SO sad I didn't see you. I am going to your blog next to read your race report!! I miss you little lady!! We need a lunch date again :). Thanks Cutie Patootie :)

RAD: I hear all sorts of great things about you running preggo!! Kudos to you!! Nice work! Thanks so much for the comments. You're awful sweet!! Keep up the good work and I want to hear when your little bundle arrives :)

Michelle: Thanks friend! Tyler said he needed to call you back. You happened to call right when we got pulled over on the way home from Ogden and yes, he got a ticket. Not a good moment :(. I told him about your comment though so I am sure he will be calling you. His knee felt great during the race on Saturday so that is a good sign. I hope it keeps getting better and better where running season is official in full swing! Thanks for checking in and for the words of encouragement! You're great! :)

So glad you had a good race. You had me believing it was going to be a tough race for you. But you knocked it out of the park. Glad you're "iPod" did the trick :) What a great day. I've always loved Ogden best. Both the half and the whole. I'm so glad I got to snag someone's number to run it again. I won't neglect signing up for next year. What a nice report! P.S. That Boston jacket looks great on you :)

I think this one is on the top of my list too, for the half any ways. The full is a killer.
