Oh the Payson Days 10K.  I actually have very fond memories and much gratitude to this race for several reasons.  1. This is the first 10K that I ever ran (back in 2000 I believe). They have changed the course since then but it has a bit of sentimental value due to the fact and also that it is what kind of got me started into running.  2. This is the race that I met Marion and Kelli at last year.  These girls have become such great friends and girls that I love to hang out with!!  Thanks for everything Ladies.  3.  After this race we get an unbelievable home cooked meal equipped with chocolate chip pancakes, buttermilk syrup and anything else that is completely bad for you post race and don't have to feel bad about eating a morsel of it! (THANK YOU MARION AND THE PIT CREW FOR FEEDING US) Oh, how lovely!! I love this race.

Tyler and I drove to the start (might I add how much I love having mornings with my hubby all to myself :). It is nice waking up and driving places together.  Just a little slip note there).  I started out with Kelli and we ran together until a bit after mile 3.  Kelli is still suffering with PF and gives herself absolutely no credit that she is still running, at a very impressive pace I might add with an injury!! I welcome any opportunity to run with her and so it was fun to hang together for a bit.  Even though I couldn't talk, and we had the world's heaviest breather behind us, it was still very fun.  Thanks Kelli.  After about mile 3 Kelli told me to go ahead and so I crept up just a bit for the last 3 miles.  I finished only a few seconds faster then last year and I was using this race as a training run so all in all I felt fine about it!  It is always so good to come to races and see so many familiar faces!! Everyone did awesome today!! Tyler took first in his age group, Walter took first overall, Mac did AWESOME, Marion, Michelle, Smooth, Kelli, Scott, JonA, Luz, Rachel, AWESOME ( I hope I am not forgetting anyone)!!!!!  Way to go Fast Running Bloggers!!  Fun Morning!~

You are one incredible runner!!!!

Can't believe you ran that fast and say it was a mere training run!! You are far too diehard!!!

I love you.

Glad you had a great morning!

From RAD on Mon, Sep 07, 2009 at 18:19:28 from 76.27.12.70

Kellie you are incredible! I wish I could say I was just using it as a 'training run' I was running my guts out! Great finish time, I'm so impressed with all you do and I had a WONDERFUL time visiting over pancakes and fat gut and butt soup!! Congrats on the 3rd place - for a TRAINING RUN!! (Did I mention your amazingness?)

From Burt on Mon, Sep 07, 2009 at 20:05:34 from 98.167.151.26

Kellie, you are something else. Race reports are for tooting your own horn, telling people, "Look at how cool I am." I think there was one line in here about how you did. You're so humble. Great job!

From Lily on Mon, Sep 07, 2009 at 20:08:38 from 75.169.36.174

Wow, great race today. I am sad I wasn't able to do it.

Thanks for you nice comments. It really is so fun to run here in St. George. Incredible weather every time!

From Smooth on Mon, Sep 07, 2009 at 22:20:20 from 71.32.234.11

From kellies on Tue, Sep 08, 2009 at 00:07:54 from 67.222.231.10

Man, you are all just WAY TOO NICE TO ME!!! Honestly, Thank you!!!! Today was fun and just to set the record straight. Today was a training run, but I did push it. I don't want to come across as a runner who just easily ran today. I did have to push it and I pushed it harder then I would have on a training run. But, I didn't push it as hard as I could have so I am going to chalk it up as a "efforted" training run (I made that word up just for you Teena).

Teena: Thanks so much girlie!! I miss you!! Let's get together soon!

RAD: Thank you. I enjoyed talking to you as well and learning about your amazing natural running abilities. I can't believe you have only been running for 2 years. You did great today and deserve your 1st place AD win after running your guts out! I have never won 1st place in my AD so I can only imagine how good that must feel :). Nice job!

Burt: Thank you so much for you nice comments. I feel very grateful to be able to run and never want to be a runner that so focused on myself that I can't see the good in others. I believe running is for the relationships you establish, the events you get to go to and the world it opens up! Did I mention that if I didn't run, I would be admitted to the insane asylum?? It's really all for selfish reasons also :) Thanks for checking in~

Lily! Hello there. It's been a while since I have talked to you!! How long are you in SG?? Enjoy your time there with your family and the perfect running weather. Not to mention the change of scenery!! So good to hear from you~

Smooth: What is is about you that just makes me want to hug ya?? You are the cutest! I love being around you. So happy and positive all of the time!! You are a great friend too. It was great spending time with you this morning. We need to work out a party while down in SG!! We should set up a party committee. Marion can be President!! You can be the Uplifting motivational speaker, Kelli can handle all of the contact information and I will be the secretary!! You in??

Hey Amber: I have talked to you before! You are so nice!! Thanks for checking in and your nice comments! You are friends with Marcie right?? It's really good to hear from you. Thanks again! I am going to read your blog when I am done here :)

Walter: What?? Did someone say something about going on a boat?? Water?? Sun??? I AM IN!!!! It was great seeing you and your darling family today! Your daughter is absolutely beautiful!! Fun party afterward too eh??? Thanks for checking in Speedy!! Hope you had a fun day today on the lake ;)

Merri: Thanks chicka!! Always good to hear from you :) We still need to get together for a long run. We are going to St. George this weekend for our last 20 miler then it's taper time. Darn it, where did the time go?? Next weekend is just a 12 I think but let me know if you wanna join. Thanks again :)!!

From Kelli on Tue, Sep 08, 2009 at 14:05:34 from 71.219.97.42

I thought you left me at mile 4, I think I was in LALA land!!!!

You so were not breathing hard, just chatting with everyone you passed, asking them how they were doing, being nice! What a NICE runner you are. Thanks for hanging with me, and thanks even more for LEAVING ME----I needed someone to chase apparently! But I did sure enjoy the first half in your company better.

Now, think what you could have done had you not been on a nice slow training run with me!?!

From LuzyLew on Tue, Sep 08, 2009 at 18:45:58 from 208.187.197.42

I second Kelli, when you passed me close to 3 you were chatty. Left over pig wrestling energy is my guess :) It sure was fun!

From marion on Wed, Sep 09, 2009 at 09:57:04 from 71.213.124.121

Kellie "the fierce pig wrestling boob tosser"- I have been thinking all weekend about how I met you and Tyler last year. I am actually a bit teary thinking about how blessed I am to have met y'all. Enough sentiment... YOU RAN AN AWESOME RACE!!! You are SMOKIN' fast. Darn it sista!

You are just the sweetest most BEAUTIFUL girly-lady in the world! love love love!!! xoxoxoxoxo

We are going to have to do a grown up date. Who's in??? I bet my Ashley will babysit for free if you set up the chocolate fountain :)

From AmberG on Wed, Sep 09, 2009 at 22:30:51 from 209.33.225.76

Hi Kellie :) THanks for your sweet comment on my blog! You are too cute!!!!!! About the healthy eating thing . . . I wish I could give you pointers but I dont think I quite qualify :) This training season I've done better though than I ever have, but I still am weak and love treats, but am limiting myself a lot! I have dreams of milkshakes after the marathon is over though, so it's bad, maybe not so life-changing! One thing that does work for me is having one free day a week, plus I try to talk others into it too so I can call a friend when I am wanting to cheat!

Ya I am Marcie's friend . . . . when did we meet? Was it at a race?

You're awesome!!!! . . . . Thanks again for your comment!!!

From Kelliebarney on Thu, Sep 10, 2009 at 10:06:42 from 99.132.184.133

Hey my dad said you keep kicking his but in all these races and that you pass him in the end. Great race! I remember when you ran your first Payson days-- I ran it as well. Look at you now-- your Awesome! Tell Tyler Congrats on his time at Payson and Hobble Creek. My dad was sure impressed with him and his running-- he called to talk about the race and tell me how well you all did. Is Kelli's foot still hurting her? That dang PF it's a bugger.

Enjoy the taper-- your almost to the finish line!!!

From kellies on Fri, Sep 11, 2009 at 01:01:59 from 67.222.231.10

Kelli: I think you are probably right. It was probably 4 miles when I crept up. This is why I am not capable of doing play by plays of every mile, how I felt, etc. I have no way of keeping it all straight. Sorry about that!! You give me too much credit though. I talked at the first part but not really at the end. I did see a cute kid (like 12 year old) right at about 5.5 that I talked to but otherwise, I was fine to just talk to myself :). Hope you are feeling good this week. I haven't gotten on the blog at all so I haven't checked in. I better do that :) Hope to see you soon Kel~

Luz: HA HA!! Oh, the Pig Wrestling! Thanks so much for coming to that and supporting the RHPC!! You will be there next year!! You looked so strong on Monday and ran a great race! NICE JOB!! Cute son you have too. I assume that was your son with you at the Pig wrestling. Good to hear from ya!!

Marion: You are such a sweetie!! You brought tears to my eye just reading that (sniff sniff). I was thinking about last year Monday morning and how fast time has flown by but how I feel like I have known you forever at the same time. I am convinced that we were girlfriends in the pre existence, you think!?! You are so much fun and I have LOVED getting to know you. Not a day goes by that I am not grateful for the friends that running has given me!! I had such a fun weekend hanging out with you and doing all of our fun events. And, as far as the adult date night, I AM IN!! I LOVE DATE NIGHT and if I can pay a babysitter with chocolate, all the more reason!!!! Set the date and we will be there!!! Thanks so much for your sweet comment! You are great!

Marcie: You are way more disciplined than I am. I am pretty good when it comes to meals, but have NO CONTROL when it comes to sugar. I have to have a treat of some sort every day! It's bad. I tried to do a free day but didn't last. I need moral support. It's also unfortunate that when I am training for a marathon I feel more justified in eating like crap knowing that I either just got done running or will be running to burn it off. I eat better during the off season when I know I won't be running to compensate. It's an illness that I will continue fighting for the rest of my life I am sure!! After the marathon I am going to do better though. It's official, I need to do something!! Anyway, thanks for the tips and for your example. That in and of itself is a huge help!! I actually just meant that I have talked to you before on the blog. I have never met you in person though I would like to. We are coming to St. George this weekend and I actually text Marcie tonight to see if we could hook up and work out driving, etc. So....if you are running with her, then chances are, I will meet you. Probably not stay with you while you run, but at least meet ya :). You are a sweetie. I have loved talking to you on here. Thanks for checking in!!!

Kellie!! HELLO!!!! Your dad is so darn cute. He came up to us afterward and asked Tyler's time because he said he likes to call and talk to you and tell you how everyone did!! Those are good memories!! I would not say that I kicked your dad's but by any mean. I literally passed him within the last 500 feet of the race! I like to keep a little fuel in the tank and kick it into high gear at the end and it just so happened to be right at that moment. However, if I am running HALF as much and as well as your dad does at his age, I will be doing cartwheels at the finish line! He is amazing and a huge example to me!! Thank you for your nice comments about Tyler too. He is a very good runner and works hard at it. However, his back is very messed up right now and he hasn't ran since Monday. I am worried about him and just hope that he gets better soon!! Please tell your dad thank you from both of us!! I know Tyler especially really looks up to all of the seasoned runners around here and has learned so much from all of them, your dad being one of them!! That means a lot. Yes, Kelli's foot is still bothering her but she, just like you, is die hard!! She has this ability to just push through things and it totally amazes me. I know she is going to do well at SGM and hope that she takes time off afterward to heal and get ALL BETTER! Call me when you come out in October so that we can get together. Thanks so much for checking in Kel!! ALWAYS good to hear from you :)

Your doing awesome, keep it up. St. George is just around the corner. I know Sydnie has had fun watching the boys on your race and big training weekends.
