Fun running this morning with Heidi W!!  Heidi C is in Lake Powell (lucky duck) and JaNae is in Wyoming so it was just the two of us this morning.  We ran the "Mailbox" route this morning.  This is a tough course but fun because you can really gage yourself on where you are at, training wise.  I remember 2 years ago, I had to walk several times when running this route and today I ran up without stopping, YEAH!!  Granted, it was hard and there was some heavy breathing going on, but that's okay because I did it!! The first 2 1/2 miles are pretty much up hill, then you have a mile and a half down and then 2 miles of flat to end it out.  I was tired when I got home and my back is really stiff but all in all, I felt pretty good!!  It is going to be fun to run this route while training for SGM so that I can see how I progress, etc.

Splits (off memory): 9:12, 9:35, 8:40, 7:52, 8:18, 7:58.  Avg. Pace ended at 8:41.

Week Plan:

Tuesday:  Strength training "solo"

Wednesday is our first official tempo run (mile warm, 3 miles at 7:48, mile cool)

Thursday: Rest or possible yoga day (if I can find a good yoga movie)

Friday: 6 miles

Saturday: 13 miles I think??

Sounds like a great plan. It was good to see you up at WBR. Did you get in to SG marathon?

Hey Shimelle!! Thanks!! It was good seeing you too. Thanks for stopping me. It was sure good to see a familiar face!! What are your plans for next year? Kelli said thier team is staying "as is" so I guess I am out for running with her :(. Yeah, I am in for SGM!! My friends, "the Heidi's" got in too (their first marathon). I am trying to talk them in to try and qualify for Boston too so I plan to stay with them the whole time!! I am excited for them. They just started running 2 years ago and have worked so hard and come so far! I am excited to experience their first marathon with them. There is nothing like the first marathon!!! You in this year?

I see from your picture you are in the short shorts club with Merri and I. Sweet!

Your week plans look great. although, I don't know of a good yoga video. But have you tried Winsor pilates? Those are so awesome. I think they sleek you out personally. You should try if you never have. :)

So, sorry I took forever to respond. I did the runners series for SG so I am in. Let the fun begin!!! You are a great friend to run with your friends.

We are looking to put another WBR team together with our running group. They already have 1 but it would be fun to have another because we have so many people now. If you are interested, you are welcome to join us. I'll let you know what we come up with.

The mailbox route!!! You are so stinkin' cute!!!

Okay ... do you have any idea how many mailboxes you actually pass??

Sounds like an awesome training route ... but the first 2.5 miles sound pretty dang tough!!!

"Mailbox Route" (still smiling ... only you!!!)

Lots of Love

Lily:I will have to check that video out, I have never tried one of those but would like to! Maybe I should get me one? And, when your legs are only 5 inches long to start with, you kind of have no choice but to wear short shorts. It's the same reason I wear 3 inch heels everyday. A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do!! :)

Shimelle: We did the runner's series also, isn't it a wonderful thing!?! This was the 3rd year in a row for us and it's worked perfectly every time!! Keep me posted on WBR for next year. I know that I want to run it again, that's for sure and so far I have no other teams that have really commited to it or asked for runners so keep me in mind. However, are you going to require runners to be super speedy fast like the rest of ya'll? I am frightened :). Na, jk, let me know what you decide to do! Thanks so much for talking to me about it!

Teena: Ha ha ha, I am laughing along with you!! You have to know that if you run in Utah County, every street, corner, and route has a name, it's just that way!! In all honesty that route probably only has about 30-40 mailboxes along the way, HA HA!!! But, the reason we named it that is because there is a little small town that shares our same zip code but is so small and in the mountains that they set up the mailbox system as a community mail box at the base of the canyon for everyone to come get their mail. So, it's actually like a covered pavillion almost that just has all of these mailboxes under it, so, therefore, it's the Mailbox route!! Fitting isn't it?? Came up with it by myself (not really). Love ya! Thanks for checking in. I miss you already~ We need to have another party soon! Did you say you were running the RHPC 1/2 on the 11th?

From Teena on Tue, Jun 30, 2009 at 17:01:44 from 67.177.20.13

I really wanted to run the RHPC half on the 11th ... so so so bad. But ... my kids have been looking forward to a boating outing that we have planned with some friends for quite some time. If I mess that up I will be the worst mom ever!!

From Teena on Tue, Jun 30, 2009 at 17:03:18 from 67.177.20.13

Btw, I like the Rodney Yee yoga DVDs. :)

From TylerS on Tue, Jun 30, 2009 at 18:35:48 from 66.29.160.130

I think that I actually came up with the Mailbox name??? jk... Good job on the run! And I like the short shorts too!

From kellies on Wed, Jul 01, 2009 at 14:13:50 from 160.7.238.59

Teena: No worries, if I had a boat, I would go boating too!! That sounds like a very fun family outing!! I am going to check out some yoga dvd's tonight I think. I will keep you posted on what I decide to buy!!

Ty: Thanks :)
