I am DONE with the Tempo RUN Baby!!!!  WAHOOOOOO!!! Man it's nice knowing that I don't have to do that for another week.  So my friend JaNae and the Heidi's and I met up this morning for the event.  I am some what dreaded the thought of this run beings that last times tempo run about sent me into cardiac arrest. However, I must admit that today was a bit easier. Our plan was to start slow, tempo for 4 miles averaging a 7:42, then cool it down the last mile.  The first mile warm up was very easy at a 9:14 pace, then we kicked it into hi gear.  Heidi W and I stayed together the entire time which was nice, even though we weren't able to talk and be our normal "chatty" selves.  First 2 miles were actually pretty easy, the 3rd mile at tempo got a bit harder and by the 4th, my legs were tired and my lungs felt heavy.  It was nice to back it off a bit for the last mile.  Funny, how after you have ran faster than your normal speed for a bit, even when you "slow" down, your pace is still pretty good!!!  Splits: 9:14, 7:42, 7:37, 7:28, 7:24, 7:55 (cool down), last .25 was right at a 8:00.

Now it's off to the shower to get my day started.  Have a good one ya'll~

Nice tempo! How's that back? Are you running the speedy spaniardo next week? If so, I'll have to come find you in the crowd. :)

AWESOME tempo run. Check out those pace, faster each mile, very strong, excellent run! Yep, marathon pace is gonna feel so slow for ya. It's GREAT that you have a running partner who matches your tempo pace. Lucky for Heidi W! I'm envious! :)

Thank you everyone! I am sorry for being so slow at responding to you all. This week got away from me!!

Tyler: I think we will stick at this pace for a bit, anything faster may do more damage (like death).

Kellie: Hey there!! I know, I miss you. I sure wish you lived closer so that you could come and coach me (not that I don't already have a great coach) on things that I can do to get faster, etc!! I can't wait to see you next month when you come to Utah for the Provo half. Hope you are feeling better also!!Thanks for checking in!

Marion: Thanks darlin!! How is little Will You are awesome. Love ya!

Teena: You are such a sweetie and just SO DARN MUCH FUN!!! Thanks for the encouragement. These things don't come as easy to me as they do to others (I won't mention any names Teena :)). I love ya and can't wait to see you again!! Let's get together again soon, even for a girls day or something???

Lily: Thanks lady!! I am running Speedy Spaniard on Friday!! It's come a bit of a tradition. Now, I just need to find a sitter because my hubby is running it too!! Hope to see you there!! I am sure that I will :) Thanks for checking in!!

Smooth: Thanks so much. I must admit that after I was done with the tempo run that I felt pretty darn good about myself. That is what I love about running, it builds self confidence!! Thanks so much for checking in and for being your sweet self!! Lots of Luv!!!
