My first official workout doing SPEED WORK this morning!!! And................it wasn't bad at all!!  So, here's how it went. I met with the Heidi's and we drove down just a ways to meet up with JaNae.  We did a warm up mile, a speed mile, jogged 1/2 a mile, another speed mile, jogged 1/2 mile and then a full mile cool down. Not too shabby at all.  The only time I felt really tired was for about the last .25 miles of the 2nd speed mile.  The splits went like this:

Mile warm up: 8:49

Speed mile: 7:18

800m jog: 9:36

speed mile: 7:13

800m jog: 9:13

cool down mile: 8:35

Worked out to be a 8:20 pace overall.  It was a fun morning with the girls and WOW, a very beautiful morning as well!!  I look forward to speed again but fear the 3-4x1600's to come, yikes!!!

WOOHOO!!! CONGRATS on getting your official first speed work DONE!!! WoMAN!!! You're already so fast! Have no fear of the 3-4 x 1600's. You're gonna kick some major trash. GOOD JOB!!! Just saw your PM. THANKS!!!

You must have one heck of a coach! I bet that he/she must have a degree in Marathon Training! Good job, sounds like the coach might need to drop the pace on those 1600's!
