Officially my 3rd time doing speed work, or was this just my 2nd?? NO, it was my 3rd. Speed work is usually painful enough for me that I remember it.  This morning was beautiful weather again and......the 1st day of school so I had a bit on my mind and wanted to get a run in as to help the morning run a little smoother.  Heidi W and I started from home and ran down to the High School so that we could use the Track for 800's.  We originally wanted to do 4 sets but our time got cut short and we needed to get home to get the kiddos going for school.  So, it went like this:

1.5 mile down to the school: 8:17

.25 mile jog around track in preparation for speed work:8:25

1. 800 = 3:20 ( 3 minutes 30 seconds) resorted in a 6:20 pace

.25 mile jog cool (no idea on pace)

2. 800 = 3:26

.25 mile jog

3. 800 = 3:28

.25 mile jog: 8:35 pace

1.5 miles home :8:38

Hope that wasn't as confusing as it appears to be!!  It's nice to have Speed work checked off of my list of "to do's".  Sorry that I stink at posting lately, I have been a little crazy with work, going out of town and getting ready for school to start. I am excited for my kids to get back into a schedule and hopefully for their mom to get into a schedule as well!!!  Night night~

Those are awesome 800s. VERY consistent and SPEEDY! GREAT speedworkout. It's cool that you live only 1.5 mile from the HS track...very convenient!

Hey, we need to get together for lunch whenever you want. Just tell me when!

Hey, I'm running SF1/2? Haven't registered yet, but I will. Are you? Sure hope to see you. Good luck at Hobble Creek!

Thanks Smooth! It is handy living close to the school, I need to utilize it more!! It's always nice to shake things up a bit using a track and OH, so much easier on the body!! I really would love to do a lunch date sometime so let me know when you girls are planning on one and I will see if I can join!! I am not sure about the SF 1/2 yet. Ty and I are deciding what to do. The SF running club actually puts it on and so I have debated volunteering my services and helping with the event so that I can see all of my friends run, but at the same time need the mileage so I am torn! I will let you know what I decided to do but look forward seeing you down in my neck of the woods regardless!! Thanks for the luck at HC, i am going to need every little bit I can get! Luvs~

Deal! Teena doesn't have class on Fri. Which day of the week you have off?

From Teena on Thu, Aug 20, 2009 at 00:39:38 from 67.177.20.13

You were cruising there!!! You always amaze me! Very nicely done. :)

I lied, I have class on Friday, but not on Thursday. I am done early on Friday though ... 10:30, so I could be to Utah County around noon. The only thing is that my kids get out of school early on Friday so I need to be home around 1:20ish. So ... if at all possible Thursdays would be AWESOME!!!!!

Lots of love.

Helloooo ladies!! Okay, let's plan on a Thursday then for lunch. I actually work Monday-Friday so I just have to know in advance so that I can arrange my schedule to be out of the office. What about next Thursday??? Would that work?? I need to check with Kelli too!! If so, could we meet in like American Fork, or Orem area?? Would that put us both about half way? Or, we could always do a Saturday too if we could break away from the family?? Let me know what works! A ladies down is just what I need!!! WAHOOOOOOO :)

Ooops, I meant Ladies Day, not Ladies Down......have no idea where that came from. Sorry about that :)

I'm good next Thur. The Meadows at A.F is just off the freeway. There are Zupas, Oliver Garden, Chili, Applebee, Cafe Rio, Ihop, Rumbi Grill, El Poco Loco, Cheddar, Sonic, Asian Buffet, Fleets Feet, Target, Cosco, Bed Bath & Beyond,...Opps got carried away! Oh, I almost forgot on the north end of the Meadows is Lehi's own famous Texas Road House and Smoothie King which are right off of the Lehi Main St. Exit! Did I cover everything? I can't wait!!!

I'm so in!!! :)

From kellies on Thu, Aug 20, 2009 at 21:49:34 from 67.222.231.10

Wow Smooth, you are my girl!! Anyone who can name that many food places off of the top of their head in one centralized location is my new best friend :) It sounds like we should start at Olive garden for salad, move to Texas Road House for our main dish, go to Zupas for Fondue, maybe back to Cafe Rio for a burrito or something, Check into Applebee's for a Blondie Brownie, then head to Costco and Bed Bath and Beyond for some shopping??? Followed by a smoothie~~~ Ha ha!! If only!! Any of the above mentioned food joints sounds heavenly. I will just be glad to get out of my office for a girls lunch! So, let's shoot for next Thursday? I talked to Kelli and she said she can come too!! HOORAY!! Anyone else you usually check with or call??
