Was going to do a P90X video with Tyler tonight but our schedules got crammed so I had to do one all by myself :) (no, it's all good, I can work out by myself alone from time to time despite what Tyler may say).  I did the "Cardio" movie tonight with a little ab work afterward. It was a really good workout and felt nice to get some exercise!!

5 Mile square this morning with Heidi W.  The air was cold so it was hard to get my breathing today and we stopped and walked a couple of times but all in all, felt it was a good workout.

So, I met up with JaNae this morning for what was supposed to be a running day. We were going to run "New Leaf" so I got all dressed in my layers and met her outside to get started. As we were stretching we started talking and I said "you sure you want to run today?"  She responded very quickly with "No, not really" :). ha ha, it was funny!! SO.................... I said "We could go inside and do some yoga or something".  We ended up walking around the block to warm up just a bit and then went back home and did the "cardio" P90X video again followed by some yoga belly (from the Yoga movie).  It was nice that we could talk a bit easier and that we didn't have to endure the cold morning.  If you can't tell, I do not like the cold mornings, nor the darkness. It's nice to shake things up from time to time (or perhaps twice in one week :).  Thanks for coming over Nae! :)

(Written Sunday with both present and past tense format. Forgive me for the confusion).

Well, my first race since the marathon and...........it was a bit (or I should say a lot) painful.  I am not sure why I expected a lot out of myself today since I just started running again a couple of weeks ago, but I do that to myself.  To add pressure, the most I have ran consistently is 5 miles up until today so that added to it........and lastly, not to keep giving myself excuses here but HOLY HARD HALF MARATHON!!! It was an interesting morning.  We started out by driving to Mesquite (from St. George) so that I could drop off Tyler, Brandon and Rachel who for some crazy reason (I am secretly jealous now and wish I were sore) decided to run the full marathon while I opted for the half only.  Therefore, they got on the bus and took off while I sat in the car and read my book waiting for my bus to arrive.  After a while I went inside and ran into Julie and a local girl from Salem who I started talking to killing time.  We drove up to the start line which was an open road out in the middle of the Desert.  They basically pulled the bus over on the side of the road and said "here you go".  I knew he was serious because I could see porta potties on the side of the road.  As I got off and started walking up to the start line I finally got to meet Amber G who was also running the half. What a cutie!  I am so glad that I got to meet her in person finally.  SO..............we started running and the first mile was easy, no problemo until...........................da da da da (dooms day sound in the back ground), I saw the first hill that I needed to tackle.  Just to reiterate, I do not like hills! I STRUGGLE at hills, always have and probably always will.  "no worries" I thought, I can handle a hill.  Well, for the next 12 miles, there were more hills then I care to count.  And, when I say Hills, I don't mean, rolling hills, I mean VEYO hills.  Up, down, up, down........ WOW, it was hard.  There were moments in the middle that I would get a shot of energy and try to make the most of it, but it was about mile 11 that I thought "I FEEL SO BAD FOR TYLER, BRANDON AND RACHEL RIGHT NOW".  I was thanking my lucky stars that I had chosen to run the half marathon, however that sick twisted part of my head wishes I was sore today from the full marathon, what is that???  All in all, it was hard but very nice to get the miles in.  It also reminded me yet again (how many times have I said this) that I really need to start running more and training harder.  This is not the time of year to say this but I hope to pick up my running a bit and be more prepared for the next race.  Also, it was a very fun weekend with my hubby and Brandon and Rachel and SO NICE to see and talk to Marcie, Josse, Amber G, Julie, Walter (his wife Misty), Jose, and any other FRB'ers I may have forgotten to mention.  Good times :)
